Where is IDlab?

IDlab has two physical spaces at the school: IDlab Studio and IDlab Atelier. We are developing our online presence and connectivity through IDlab channels on Instagram and Kaltura, a streaming media service for education and IDlab.

IDlab Studio, located on the fifth floor of the academy, is a black-box space measuring 20 x 15m. in the studio, you will find the facilities you need to conduct a range of interdisciplinary projects and experiments using 360 projection and video mapping, for example. When technologies such as virtual reality, mobile choreography, spatial audio are required, IDlab connects with its collaborating partners.

We use studio for classes, prototyping, editing and meet-ups.

The IDlab Studio programme is set by the IDlab Platform at two points during the year:

  • In May–June we schedule the programme for the entire upcoming academic year
  • In October–November we fill in any gaps in the timetable
  • In January IDlab launches an open call for students, with a deadline.

IDlab Atelier is also located on the academy’s fifth floor, adjacent to IDlab studio. Here, you can work with specialised software and hardware to realise your project. We invest in new hardware and software for show control, 360 projection and video mapping, virtual reality, 3D audio and interfaces.

IDlab Atelier is also the place to meet up with other people. IDlab meets here, and the space is also used for instruction classes.

Would you like to edit or work in IDlab Atelier? You’re welcome to do so during school opening hours.

IDlab uses Channels on Kaltura and Instagram to develop a dedicated preview/review environment for documenting and presenting IDlab activities and projects. Developments are also taking place within the academy’s departments for making student portfolios in WordPress and using collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams and Projectcamp.us.
