sentient, conjoined and mutually intersecting, caught and yet wandering the labyrinth

Being at the edge, pushing against a thing you don’t know the shape of.
The process happens in waves.
It is a labyrinth of multiple attentions.

***

These are mixed-up wordings from the artistic investigations of Clarinde, Jordan, Juan and Laura, who share their intricate journeys. In these journeys, they have engaged with their respective artistic research practices and with important choreographic questions about bodies, movement imaginaries and cosmologies. The artists have let themselves get caught in physical and mental webs, visions, images and contexts, as a way to remain in motion. The idea of a centered human subjectivity gets destabilised in this process, as the four artistic propositions are about engaging and getting caught by and with other entities. In that way, they foreground “sentient flesh”, to quote R.A. Judy, as a critique to western white, self-possessed and ocularcentric humanism.

***

We invite everyone to think of these fluid and sentient works that are caught in various webs while still moving and imagining, as minor relational acts that plead a halt to current genocides, ecocides and neo-fascist ideologies. They are also a reminder that cosmologies don’t belong to peoples, but instead constitute peoples.
