Nadine Coles Lavern (1959, New York) was an engaging storyteller and made several performances such as Malcolm X, Thelonious Monk, and the mesmerising solo Marvin Gaye. Anyone who knew Nadine will remember her warm personality, her contagious machine gun laughter and sincere engagement with the black voice in the Dutch theatre landscape, way before it became fashionable. “Justice mattered to her” as her soulsister said last week Thursday on her service. We thank her for contributions and will keep her in our hearts.
We hereby want to invite you, as associates, teachers and fellow students to join us celebrating her life and work on Wednesday 15 March from 20.00-22.00 at the Polanentheater in Amsterdam.
Please feel welcome.
