remembering iridescence floating ordinary - Ahmed El Gendy

we are the tentacles of an octopus
liquid mirror molding into reflective bodies
as we are the scatter of the same shimmer
attempting attempts
bringing what we are seeing into tinted existence
because in imagination ‘being’ is a glimpse of a passing thought
like being on the edge of a waterfall
like a wink from randomness and synchronicity to ‘seeing’ itself
constantly passed on from one hand to another
while staying through their in-between
literally holding
landscapes that we cohabitate
as containers of things
bearing the weights of ‘seeing’
with hands holding them and letting them go
inviting eyeball retinas to be smelled by the tentacle muscle
i feel you like the moon feels the earth
through durations that are hardening and lasting
the mere fact that our bodies sense one another in proximity
on the trampoline that we bounce from
for being a space for the world as a matter of range
where the curiosity of our eyes is confronted by the risk
of never being able to include every drop
i risk losing you at zero distance
through distances that are equally vast on their scale
always untangling our triangular ways of seeing
