The Application Form
The application form will be online from 15 September 2017.
Please read the application form carefully and prepare all your answers before you start to fill in the application form.
1. Personal Information
Candidates should also upload a passport photograph here.
2. Education
Indicate all educational courses you have followed up to now (after leaving secondary school) and upload a copy of the most relevant and recent diplomas / certificates here (a maximum of two).
3. Professional Experience
Describe in one or two sentences your main area of work.
Name your major professional projects and clearly indicate your role (give a CV of your artistic work).
List other relevant professional experiences.
4. Questions concerning your practice
Answer the following questions:
Artistic development: Outline your artistic development up to now. Conclude with a description of your current position in the national (and/or international) theatre landscape.
Topics: Which issues do you address in your work? How do you deal with them?
Goals: Formulate your artistic ambition on a long and short term.
DAS Theatre: How do you expect DAS Theatre to contribute to your artistic development? Please mention:
1. Competences you want to develop;
2. Expectations about the peer environment and the curriculum (block semesters – individual semesters);
3. An outline of a research project you would like to embark on at DAS Theatre.
5. Portfolio
Complete a portfolio list of the documented works that support your application. Send a portfolio containing documentation of at least 3 separate performing/time-based arts projects. The total viewing time should not exceed 30 minutes.
We prefer video/audio/pictures online. You can mention the web address in your application form. Otherwise send it on DVD. Writers/dramaturges can upload 2 scripts/scenarios with a maximum of 5 pages each.
Supported video formats: AVI, MPEG-4, MOV, WMV, DivX, Xvid. Supported picture formats: JPEG, TIFF, PDF, GIF. Supported audio formats: MP3, WAV, AIFF.
Although DAS Theatre handles your documentation with the utmost care, we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage. So don’t send in originals! If you want to have your documentation returned, send enough Dutch stamps or international coupons together with your portfolio. DAS Theatre will keep your work for one year if you want to pick it up yourself.
6. Recommendation letter
Send a recommendation letter and attach a short CV of its author, who is preferably a person with a certain reputation in the international performing arts. The author of your recommendation should have followed your artistic work and supports/motivates your step toward study at DAS Theatre.

7. Practicalities
Finances: It is your responsibility to finance your studies at DAS Theatre. Do you already know how you will manage that? For information concerning tuition fees go to practical matters.
Availability: DAS Theatre is a full-time residential Master’s course. Are you available the whole first year? Are you enrolled in any other programme (education, residency, research or other) during the 2016-2017 academic year? Do you have any other (artistic) commitments?
