For everyone who wants to get an overall impression of the program of the SNDO we organize an Intensive Course. 

The Intensive Course is an addition to the regular BA course, designed for those who wish to refresh their ideas on choreography and / or who wish to prepare themselves for the SNDO auditions.

The classes covered in 2024 are Choreography, Movement Research, and Art & Theory. Teachers for this edition are, amongst others, Bruno Listopad, Fernando Belfiore, Joy Mariama Smith, Justin F. Kennedy and Keerthi Basavarajaiah.

Practical information

• Dates:  Dec 2-13, 2024 (2 weeks)
• Tuition fee: € 600

Limited spots are available. The applications are processed on the first-come-first-served basis. Ensure yours by applying on time: send an email to SNDO@ahk.nl. 

Scholarships
We can offer five scholarship places. The scholarship covers the Intensive Course fee. The accommodation and travel remain at the cost of the participant. Eligible for scholarship are exchange students or people with limited financial means. For a donation of 300,- euro or more, one is potentially securing a spot free of charge for the SNDO Intensive Course effectively booking a spot with a thick 50% discount.

How comes and what is Ria Higler Fund?

In 2023, SNDO lost Ria Higler, an educator whose vision on dance and dedication to nurturing the next generation of choreographers left an indelible mark on the school as well as on lives and artistic paths of hundreds of alumni and students.

In March 2024, SNDO honored Ria with the premiere of Ria Higler documentary film at Cinedans FEST. Together, with Ria’s former and current students, friends and family, we created some magic by donating to give the wings to the fundraising campaign Kickstart Ria Higler Fund.

This event was a crucial moment to pass the first threshold where the Ria Higler Fund might become a reality. Following this, we wrote to SNDO community and they responded with another wave of support and donations.

Right now we are in the final weeks of the campaign and all contributions matter.

Any donation which enters before 26th of April will make a big difference.

Important information: in case the campaign doesn’t reach the goal by this date the funds are returned to all donators, this also means that your spot for the Intensive Course with the discount is falling through. If this happens you will need to re-apply for your spot for the regular fee.
