Ken Ossola

In 1989, under the leadership of Gerald Tibbs and the artistic direction of Jiří Kylián, Ken Ossola joins Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and two years later NDT 1.

Ken had the opportunity to work and being part of creations with leading choreographers such as Hans Van Manen, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Martino Muller, Paul Lightfoot, Nacho Duato, Johan Inger and Jiří Kylián.

He has been part on a great number of Jiri Kylián creations including One of a Kind, Blackbird, Tiger Lily, Wings of Wax, and Bella Figura. 

In 2009, using Faure’s Requiem, Ken created Lux for Le Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève. In 2014, for the same ballet company he created a full evening tribute to Gustav Mahler: « Shadows Memories ».

In 2016, for Les Grand Ballet Canadien, he created a tribute to Sergei Rachmaninov « Dim light of Dawn », in 2019, for the Shanghai Ballet in collaboration with Yen Han Ballet for the Shanghai art Festival. In 2020, he co-created "Of Eden" with Cora Bos-Kroese for the Sadamatsu Hamada Ballet, " Bright " for the University of music and performing art dance academy, Mannheim, dir. Agnes Noltenius and "Zoom In"commissioned by Boston Ballet director Mikko Nissinen, a first online work collaboration.

As well as choreographing, he enjoys working in the studio as ballet master. He has worked in that capacity for NDT during their 2004/05 season and has assisted Jiri Kylián during the creation of Zugvögel at the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich, as well as staging his work worldwide and also pieces from the renown choreographer Hans Van Manen.
