In collaboration with the Dutch National Ballet, the Dutch National Ballet Academy will organize a programme where ballet students between 15 and 21 years of age will have the unique opportunity to work in the studios of the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam.
During the Amsterdam International Summer School LIVE IN AMSTERDAM students can choose to stay in the Stayokay Youth Hostel Zeeburg.
PLEASE NOTE: While we currently expect to be able to host the summer course in the July 2021, it is subject to change based on applicable Dutch COVID-19 guidelines.
During this intensive 6-day course, that takes place from 12th through 17th of July, we will be focusing on partnering skills, pas de deux and classes in classical and contemporary repertoire of the Dutch National Ballet.
Students will be working with teachers from Dutch National Ballet, the Junior Company, the Dutch National Ballet Academy and guest teachers. Names of the teachers will be announced on our social media platforms (Instagram, facebook, website) soon.

The course fee for the Amsterdam International Summer School LIVE IN AMSTERDAM ( 12 – 17 JULY ) is € 800,00 euros.
During the Amsterdam International Summer School LIVE IN AMSTERDAM AMSTERDAM students can choose to stay in the Stayokay Youth Hostel Zeeburg. The costs for the accommodation is € 330,00 euro’s. Please read more under ‘accommodation’.

You can apply for the Amsterdam International Summer School LIVE IN AMSTERDAM by filling out the digital application form.
We would like to select participants as soon as possible as there are just a limited number of places available in the studio. The invoice will be sent as late as possible, no earlier than mid-May. This is to prevent cancellations and refunds of the course fee if we are forced to reschedule or cancel the programme.

Due to a limited number of places available, candidates are advised to apply a.s.a.p. The deadline for applications is 9th of April 2021.
Among other things you will be asked to upload your CV, a portrait picture and three photographs.
These three photographs should be full body shots showing:
- Tendu à la seconde (en face)
- First arabesque (en profil)
- Demi plié in first position (en face)
During the Amsterdam International Summer School students will have the option to audition for the preliminary course or associate degree programme of Dutch National Ballet Academy. In the application form students will be able to register for an audition opportunity. There will be no specific programme when you will apply for the audition opportunity, during the programme of your choice our artistic staff will watch several classes and will be able to look at your level and technique.
Participants can choose to stay at the Amsterdam based Stayokay Youth Hostel (Zeeburg location ). This modern, recently completely renovated hostel is located in a quiet, typical Amsterdam neighborhood. The studios of the Dutch National Ballet are less than 15 minutes away by bike or by tram (direct connection).
Stayokay Youth Hostel (Zeeburg location) has its own café-restaurant where a breakfast buffet and a three-course dinner are served daily. The cooks use only fresh (and if possible biological) ingredients and serve healthy and varied meals. The kitchen can cater for most of the more common dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose free, etc.).
- The Stayokay Youth Hostel lodging deal costs € 330,00 (from 11 until 18th of July) on top of the course fee.
- The costs for the accommodation will be invoiced together with the course fee costs;
- Check in is on Monday 11th of July from 15:00 o’clock. Check out is on Sunday 18th of July at 10:00 o’clock;
- The price includes accommodation, a daily breakfast buffet, packed lunches (to bring to the studios) and diner.
- The candidates of the Amsterdam International Summer School share rooms with five fellow dance students (boys and girls separated as much as possible), sharing a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet.
