A Sick Woman Presentation
Welcome to nisha's world of the erotic and the sick — a space where the impossibility of coexistence morphs into variously awkward forms of writing, dancing, moving, and making.
This presentation is about a cancer survivor's life-building project, a cross-section of the ongoing struggles within that which makes and keeps us sick. It is a form of research-sharing that moves through brokenness, holds space for lostness, and remains in wonder, which may or may not become a form of life.
This presentation is also a hand reaching out — for response, for resonance — with other sick women, with what Johanna Hedva calls my "fellow spoonies, my fellow sick and crip crew," without reducing people to diagnoses or assuming happy collectivity. It seeks a queer space of intimate encounters, ones that ask urgent questions about infrastructure, and about how change might emerge through broken, improvised, non-sovereign relating between and beyond people.
