15 January 2017: "The Way We Work Now" by Irit Rogoff

On January 15th 2017, Irit Rogoff, Professor Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths University of London, held a public lecture titled "The Way We Work Now" at DAS Graduate School.

The Way We Work Now

Contemporary research no longer recognises the stricture of an informing discipline or the limitations of an interpretative audience. We have moved on from working from inherited knowledges to working from the conditions of our lives. It is in fact our work, no longer distanced by illusions of objectivity or by forms of delivery, that has capacities to change those conditions through modalities of direct and elliptical engagement, both intellectual and cultural.

About Irit Rogoff

Irit Rogoff is one of the initiators of the transdisciplinary field of Visual Culture and founder of the department at Goldsmiths. Her initiatives to establish this new field are led by a belief that we must work beyond bodies of inherited disciplinary knowledge and find motivation for knowledge production in the current conditions we are living out.
