An attempt to take traditional female roles and twist them, rewrite them, spit them out, put them on a pile and shape them into a new reality. A new kind of woman, who likes potato’s, a lot. Shedding skin, travelling through different shapes and formations of womanhood and searching for ways to revolt against expectations.

Happy Songs 4 Sad People

‘Happy songs 4 sad people’ is een muzikale voorstelling die licht schijnt op hoe mijn generatie (Generatie Z) omgaat met negatieve emoties, grote enge dingen en maatschappelijke perikelen.

In alle liedjes van ‘happy songs 4 sad people’ wordt er uitgegaan van humor als een nieuwe vorm van eerlijkheid. De voorstelling vat de contrasterende humor van mijn generatie die is opgegroeid met internet samen. Een generatie met een grote grijze wolk boven het hoofd, die simpele, snelle en gevatte humor gebruikt als copings-mechanisme.

Door dit contrast wordt de voorstelling catchy en opzwepend, maar ook kwetsbaar en persoonlijk. Als we het hebben over de transparantie van onze generatie is dit misschien wel hoe het eruit ziet: ha-ha-ha au-au-au.
