Career perspectives
The alumni of the Design & Technology study programme work at a high level at performances, companies, events and other media projects. Consider, for example, festivals such as Lowlands or De Parade, opera and theater companies such as Nationale Opera & Ballet or National eTheater, television programmes such as Zomergasten, or at the top of creative technical agencies such as Sightline Productions. Because you can partly shape your own study with the help of our network, the professional practice offers several possibilities for alumni: you can profile yourself both within and outside the performing arts.
Especially since the last five years, the professional field increasingly consists of self-employed people because our industry functions on a project basis. In general, our designers and manufacturers want to be in control themselves, and this is now almost the standard. However, it is also possible, for example, to become permanently employed as a first stage manager or deputy stage manager for a company or in a theatre.
