One-man operetta Ludwig best production of the Parade Theatre Festival

With their one-man operetta Ludwig, DasArts alumnus Steef de Jong and Ina Veen of the music theatre group Groots en Meeslepend have won De Mus, a prize for the best production of the Parade Theatre Festival. The prize was awarded at the conclusion of the travelling festival on 24 August in Amsterdam. Steef de Jong graduated from DasArts – Master of Theatre in 2010

With their one-man operetta Ludwig, DasArts alumnus Steef de Jong and Ina Veen of the music theatre group Groots en Meeslepend  have won De Mus, a prize for the best production of the Parade Theatre Festival. The prize was awarded at the conclusion of the travelling festival on 24 August in Amsterdam. Steef de Jong graduated from DasArts – Master of Theatre in 2010.

The jury praised Ludwig, dubbing it a ‘bewitching musical masterpiece’. Music theatre group Groots en Meeslepend consists of actor and dramatist Steef de Jong and director Ina Veen who was formerly active with Firma Rieks Swarte. An excerpt from the jury report: ‘The protagonist lived for art and firmly believed that art and culture could bring people peace and happiness. A noble thought that the artists and public of the Parade Theatre Festival will try to carry on.

The Gouden Ei, a prize  for the best children’s production at the Parade, was awarded to Theater aan het Spui for its production Parairie, chosen from a total of nineteen children’s performances.
