Are you a student or staff member who identifies as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, including mixed race)* and who has lived experience of racialisation? Then perhaps you might be interested in joining ‘Building the Impossible Bridge’ – a series of regular gatherings in which ATD Researcher Rajni Shah invites participants to collectively slow down and listen together towards decolonial futures. During the sessions, Whiteness and coloniality are actively decentered, and participants are welcome to come as they are. These are moments for us to share difficult experiences, but also to affirm, rewrite, and dream together.
In 2026, there are two groups running: one for students and recent alumni from the ATD; and one for researchers, teachers, and staff members who work with or within institutions (including but not limited to ATD/AHK). If you are interested in knowing more, please email Rajni Shah at rajni.shah@ahk.nl. People who are quiet, shy, or feel marginalised by more mainstream structures of dialogue and interaction are especially encouraged to reach out.
* These terms can feel limiting or forced, but are helpful in the work of acknowledging and addressing structural racism. If you self-identify as BIPOC you are welcome here, no questions asked.
