Pedro Afonso Machado about ALOPECOID

‘It is a very big project that I have self-funded with my savings and hopefully will kickstart my upcoming works as a maker. The work seeks to create a catalogue/library of short-stories and explorations on topics that have urgency for me. In the first volume of this library I explore 8 different topics connecting queer identity, grief, addiction, acceptance and others.

The work divides itself in 3 forms:

  1.  A live dance and theater performance called ALOPECOID: AGILE SEEDING;
  2. A recorded spoken-word album of the 8 tracks called ALOPECOID: LATENT PREDATOR;
  3. A written book with various poems, short-stories, narrations and essays regarding each of the 8 topics called ALOPECOID: CUNNING REBELLION.

I will be performing the show, releasing the album and the book all at the same time on February 13th at Plein Theater in Amsterdam at 20:30. The album and book will also be available for online.’

Hope to see you at the performance!
