On Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29, the Shanghai Theatre Academy visited the Academy of Theatre and Dance, Jodenbree location and DAS Theatre in our building on Overhoeksplein.

The Shanghai Theatre Academy showed great interest in how we as an academy have organized our theatre education. In addition to exchanges about education and the educational curriculum, there was a focus on the connection between theater and other disciplines.  

The delegation, consisting of Liu Qing (Vice President of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Yi Tianfu (Deputy Director and Secretary General of the Academic Committee), Shen Qian, (Deputy Director of Stage Design Department), Huang Jingfeng (Professor from the theater literature department) and Guo Tian (doctoral student in educational management), had a conversation on Wednesday with interim director Mechtild van den Hombergh and Tom Willems, ATD internationalization coordinator. The visit was then given a tour of the academy by Jeroen de Beer tour of the academy included visits to the decorating studio, the library and the costume studio.

In the IDlab they received a presentation from Erik Lint, head of the IDlab. Artistic directors of the Design & Technology study course, Gertjan Houben, and Scenography study course, Bart Visser, were also present to provide information about their study programs.

On Thursday, August 30, the company visited DAS Theatre in our building in Amsterdam North. A conversation took place here with Ingrid Vranken, artistic director of DAS Theatre. There too, guests were shown around the building and information about the master's program was exchanged.
