Last March and April, a large number of pupils and students appeared in Swan Lake, in the internationally acclaimed version created for Dutch National Ballet by Rudi van Dantzig, in 1988, in close collaboration with choreographer and designer Toer van Schayk. NBA 3 and 4 pupils danced in the first act as ‘peasant children’, at the garden party in honour of Prince Siegfried’s birthday. In addition, all 24 first-year Associate Degree students took part in a total of 17 performances. They performed as swans in the second and fourth acts, danced the Hungarian czardas in the third act and appeared as courtiers in the first and third acts.
