The Master’s programmes of the academies of the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) were assessed as good, just as in previous years, in the Keuzegids Masters 2018 (Master’s Guide 2018). The experts remain positive about the Master’s programmes of the AHK.
With a score of 100, the DAS Choreography Master’s programme of the Academy of Theatre and Dance (ATD) is one of the top arts programmes in the Netherlands. The DAS Theatre Master’s programme (also of the ATD) and the Master of Film of the Netherlands Film Academy also received the designation ‘topopleiding’ (top rated programme) from the Keuzegids. According to the expert panel, the Master of Opera of the Conservatorium van is one of the very best Master’s programmes, but the study programme did not receive a final assessment due to the small number of students.
The Amsterdam University of the Arts has a unique range of Master’s programmes in all arts disciplines. In the case of all degree programmes, the experts assessed the quality as (very) positive. The experts were particularly full of praise about the exit level of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam’s Master of Music. The students of this Master’s programme were most satisfied with the teachers, study programme feasibility and the supervision. Students of the Master’s programmes of the Academy of Architecture (Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape Architecture) particularly valued the practice-oriented nature of the degree programme, while in the case of the Master of Education in Arts, the students were positive about the programme, the teachers and the academic training. Finally, the Master of Museology of the Reinwardt Academy received a score around the national average, as in previous years.
