The Bournonville Week will take place from July 11th to 16th and will be given by teachers from the Danish Bournonville faculty: Dinna Bjørn, Frank Andersen, Anne Marie Vessel, Eva Kloborg and Eric Viudes. In the lessons, they will give the participants a detailed introduction to the delicate Bournonville style, which is famed for its light jumps, speedy footwork and graceful ports de bras (arm movements).

This will be followed, from 18 to 29 July, by the regular Two-Week Intensive, in which the participants will take classes with NBA teachers Jean-Yves Esquerre, Nathalie Caris, Laurence Korsenti and Olivier Wecxsteen, and also with Larissa Lezhnina (former principal with Dutch National Ballet and now ballet mistress), Jozef Varga (principal with Dutch National Ballet) and Ernst Meisner (artistic coordinator of the Dutch National Ballet’s Junior Company). The participants will also be introduced to the work of the young British choreographer Charlotte Edmonds.

Both courses will focus on classical ballet technique, divided into separate classes for girls and boys, as well as variation, pas de deux, pointework, coaching classes and repertoire of Dutch National Ballet. All the classes will take place in the superbly equipped studios of Dutch National Ballet. The courses will be rounded off by a studio presentation for family members and guests.
