William Collins, fourth year student at the School for New Dance Development, is this year's winner of  ITs Choreography Award. Collins was awarded the prize for his production An exclamation of surprise or incredulity that was staged as part of the programme, The Makers Present Dance.

The jury called the winning creation a ‘fantastic and original piece in which different layers lie concealed’ This makes for exciting viewing. The performers dare to radically let themselves go and switch nimbly from one emotion to another. The winner may use the € 4,500 prize money made available by SNS REAAL Fonds, for further personal and artistic development.

During the four previous editions of the IT’s Festival, the Choreography Award also went to a SNDO student; last year the winner was Alma Söderberg.

William Collins and Alma Söderberg also performed during the Nederlandse Dansdagen, the festival for Dutch dance that took place on October 10 and 11 in Maastricht.
