Dolce Revoəl - SNDO Graduation Works 2022

Friday 27 May 2022, 19:00 - 21:00 hrs.

It is our pleasure to invite  you to "Dolce Revoəl" - SNDO Graduation Works 2022. This year’s SNDO graduates are Sofia Castro, Devika Chotoe, Paca Faraus, Antonella Fittipaldi, Valeryia Le, Parisa Madani, Nazar Rakhmanov and Peter Scherrebeck Hansen.

The graduating year of SNDO presents their final works in June 2022 across two venues –  Tempel, Amsterdam and Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond, Amsterdam. The 4th year students of the SNDO – School for New Dance Development graduate by creating two works next to writing a thesis and completing their internship. Public programs take place in venues outside the school providing the students with professional working conditions and the artistic context. In July the graduation works travel to Berlin, to be presented at Uferstudios.

Parallel to the student’s individual creation processes runs a collaboration with the Graphic Design department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. This initiative originated in 2017, through dialogue with SNDO partner institute If I Can’t Dance and it is with great pleasure that the alliance continues after a 2 year pause caused by the pandemic. Students of both educations receive an applied design assignment to work together in developing visibility material for the graduation show.

This year’s SNDO graduates are Sofia Castro, Devika Chotoe, Paca Faraus, Antonella Fittipaldi, Valeryia Le, Parisa Madani, Nazar Rakhmanov and Peter Scherrebeck Hansen.

The Gerrit Rietveld Graphic Design graduate is Hyoyeong Chu.

The program is made possible in collaboration with our venue partner Tempel, Amsterdam, which is hosting this year’s performances alongside Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond, Amsterdam.

The SNDO - School for New Dance Development - offers a full-time four-year professional education course leading to a Bachelor's degree in Art – Choreography. The school was founded in 1975 as an attempt to find new directions for dance next to the existing forms and styles that dominated the field. After forty years, the SNDO remains inquisitive, open minded, and in the foreground of progressive developments in the fields of dance and performance. In the curriculum, the school establishes the conditions from which the creativity of the student can emerge. Reflection on the specific qualities of dance and performance as art forms is developed, and awareness of the body and the artistic, political and ethical implications of working with it take precedence.
