History of 50 years of Library

On January 1, 1972, Gerda Tendeloo is appointed as the first officially certified librarian for the Theatre School. She will be responsible for a collection of theater books from the Work Center for Lay Theater and Creative Play and the old drama school on Marnixstraat. Due to the presence of dance courses within the Theater School, Tendeloo soon expanded the collection into a dance and theater library. Despite the fact that the library has moved three times in those fifty years, from Herenmarkt to Binnengasthuisterrein  and to Jodenbreestraat, it remains a popular place to study.

Collection within reach
The Lundia bookshelves remain unchanged, but fortunately the cigarettes have not survived the test of time. Time does not stand still on the shelves and the wishes of students and other users are carefully listened to. For example, the collection in the field of gender and diversity has expanded in recent years. In addition, video tapes are increasingly being replaced by digital files and the range of digital sources is growing day by day.
