IDlab Open Studio - IDOS E03: Angie Smets (Guerrilla Games) & SISTERS

In the new series ID.OS - IDlab Open Studio - progressive artists present their innovative interdisciplinary practice. From electronic music to video games, and from music videos to Instagram documentaries. How does that creative process proceed: from idea, to design, to the finished result? What role do the internet and social networks play? And how can you work together effectively?

In this third edition we welcome Angie Smets, executive producer of the world-famous Amsterdam game studio Guerrilla Games. Angie has worked with Guerrilla since 2003 and was responsible for many games including the popular first-person shooter Killzone. In recent years she helped launch Guerrilla’s first RPG ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’, one of the most well-liked and highly acclaimed new PlayStation games (BAFTA award 2018 and Gouden Kalf 2017)

During IDOS E03, Angie Smets will talk about the design process that led up to the world building in Horizon Zero Dawn.

The audience is invited to ask questions after the presentation.

Subsequently the dance film SISTERS will be shown. In the Bachelor category, SISTERS won a prize for best final work as well as a public award.
Direction: Daphne Lucker (alumna Netherlands Film Academy) | Choreography: Emma Evelein (alumna ATD/ Urban Contemporary/JMD).
