Sabrina Sugiarto

SABRINA SUGIARTO is freelance filmmaker en zet zich op creatieve wijze in voor filmgerelateerde projecten waarbij inclusiviteit en diversiteit centraal staan. Ze schreef verschillende korte kinderfilms en series waaronder ‘ABI’ en ‘Sammy Paramaribo’ voor KRO NCRV. Ook regisseerde ze de documentaire ‘Onbekend Onbemind’ over homoseksualiteit binnen de Surinaamse gemeenschap. Voor Tropenmuseum Junior deed ze samen met het bestaande team de conceptontwikkeling, research en uitwerking van jeugdtentoonstelling ‘Sabi Suriname’. Momenteel werkt ze bij FilmForward aan het bouwen van een platform dat voor meer zichtbaarheid voor ondervertegenwoordigde filmmakers moet zorgen. Met slagkracht en doeltreffendheid de filmsector op kwalitatieve en duurzame wijze diversifiëren is haar hoofddoel. Hiervoor wil ze haar onderneming inzetten en haar kennis en skills middels de DAS Creative Producing Master vergoten en versterken.

Sabrina Sugiarto is a freelance filmmaker who is creatively committed to film-related projects that enhance inclusivity and diversity. She wrote several short children’s films and series, including ABI and Sammy Paramaribo for KRO NCRV. She also directed the documentary ‘Onbekend Onbemind’ about homosexuality within the Surinamese community. For Tropenmuseum Junior she co-developed the concept, researched and executed the youth exhibition ‘ Sabi Suriname’. She is currently working at FilmFoward on a project to build a platform that increases visibility for underexposed filmmakers. Her main goal is to diversify the film sector in an effective and durable way and uphold high standard quality storytelling. For this she wants to use her company, expand and strengthen her knowledge and skills through the DAS Creative Producing Master.
