Theatre ‘Pamphlet’ Year 2017 (Original in Dutch: ‘vlugschrift’ THEATERJAAR 2017) is a comparative overview in figures. This special edition, published as an appendix to the February edition of the Theatermaker, precedes a new Theatre yearbook that will be published in October 2018.

"We believe it is necessary to be able to support the developments in the sector with figures that must be accessible to everyone. Only this way can they be used by everyone, feed current interpretations about the development of the performing arts, and the value of quantitative and other data. The members of the NIT working group are committed to reviving the tradition of the Theatre Yearbook, and to new forms of data collection and data linking. Doing so, the importance of a sustainable infrastructure for documentation is underlined, as well as analysis and research. It is a prelude to the Theatre Yearbook 2018, and a plea for substantial structural support for heritage, reflection and debate in our sector," - Marijke Hoogenboom - lecturer DAS Research.

DAS Research, the research department of DAS Graduate School and the professorship of the Academy of Theater and Dance, launched a Theatre Yearbook in 2016 after a four-year gap. This was also in collaboration with Theatermaker and NIT.
