Conversations with makers: Lotte van den Berg & Anoek Nuyens (Dutch only)

Lotte van den Berg, Anoek Nuyens (2016)

The book "The lake and the rock" (Original in Dutch "Het meer en de rots") is a conversation between theatre-maker Lotte van den Berg and maker / writer Anoek Nuyens.

"An ongoing effort to understand ourselves and to grasp our thinking. Until here."
- Lotte van den Berg

Lotte van den Berg and Anoek Nuyens spoke about the theatre as a parliament, the soloist artist, a movement outside, god, to posing questions as: When do we call something art? They conclude with a confrontational appeal to the field.

About the series

In collaboration with the Nieuwe Toneelbibliotheek, DAS Research has started the series: Conversations with Makers (Original: Gesprekken met makers"). This series aims to contribute to the memory of theatre in the Netherlands. The practice, thinking and knowledge of performing artists themselves are focal aspects of the series. We want to offer makers the opportunity to speak out in their own language, and from their own experience and interest.
