IDlab
Poetic laboratory for digital technologies
Experimental, interdisciplinary, inspiring
IDlab (Interdisciplinary Digital Laboratory) is a program housed within the ATD Lectorate. For more information see the IDlab website.
IDlab is the place where you can engage and experiment with the very latest digital technology and techniques. How about 360 video or audio on your mobile? Or video mapping, virtual reality (VR) and the upcoming mixed reality (XR) technology that will bring film and theatre/dance even closer. The basis is about making content, and learning to work with cameras and software for show control and editing video and audio.
In what ways could these technologies and techniques be meaningful for you? And how could you introduce them – or question them, perhaps – in your work and in your imagination?
IDlab offers a programme that includes:
- Open Studios: inspiring meet-ups and lectures with artists whose work incorporates digitality
- Projects: interdisciplinary educational projects
- Research: research and development
- Education: specialist workshops, tool shops and mentoring
IDlab also has two ‘real-world’ spaces – IDlab Studio and IDlab Atelier – and the IDlab Virtual Environment. Go to Where is IDlab for more information.
