Open Day Dutch National Ballet Academy

Once a year, the Dutch National Ballet Academy opens its doors to children, parents/carers, teachers, family members and friends to find out what it means to train as a professional dancer.

Programme
Viewing classes - open access
In the morning, from 9.00 hrts onwards, you can attend lots of classes by the academy's pupils and students. Classical ballet classes are scheduled in which boys and girls from 10 years old up to college level can be seen. Additionally, repertory, pointe, virtuoso, world dance and caractere classes are scheduled. You will receive an overview of the classes and studios during the open day when you arrive at the academy.

And the best part, perhaps, happens in the afternoon. Because then children aged 7 to 12 can take two lessons themselves. These lessons will be given by teachers from the National Ballet Academy.

There are 2 age categories:
7-9 years: ballet and repertoire or creative dance
10-12 years: ballet and repertoire or world dance

The costs for the participation fee are 15 euro per participant. You can find the payment link in the registration form. Your registration is final after receipt of the participation fee.
Furthermore, staff, pupils and students will be present during the NBA Open Day to provide more information about the programme and the academy. There will be a presentation on how our auditions go, what is paid attention to and how to prepare. There will be a film screening of our latest performance Dancers of Tomorrow, and a short demonstration of the rehearsal for Snowflakes from the Nutcracker. There will also be stands selling things like ballet clothes and posters. There will be food and drinks in the canteen. Parking is free on Saturday, by the way.
