
Qian was born in Zhengzhou China and studied at the Liaoning Ballet Academy from the age of 9. At the age of 16 she was offered a contract as a soloist at the Liaoning Ballet and became a principal when she was 19 years old.
After dancing with the Liaoning Ballet for 6 years she decided she needed to move to Europe for her further artistic development and was accepted into Dutch National Ballet in 2012. Four years later she became a principal dancer with the company in Amsterdam.
Qian has danced the leading role in ballets like Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and Swan Lake.
In 2023 she decided she wanted to develop her teaching qualifications and was accepted into the Bachelor Teacher Classical Ballet at the Dutch National Ballet Academy. She combined this with her position as principal dancer at Dutch National Ballet and graduated in July 2024.
