A unique partnership with the Dutch National Ballet

The Dutch National Ballet Academy is the only dance school in the Netherlands that is directly affiliated with the Dutch National Ballet, one of the world's leading ballet companies.

At the Dutch National Ballet Academy, students follow an integrated programme of dance and regular education, after which they can complete their dance training with a two-year higher professional education Associate Degree programme.

The school currently has 167 pupils and students, including not only many talented young Dutch dancers, but also various foreign (guest) students. In line with the desire to facilitate lifelong learning, students who have obtained an Associate Degree in classical ballet can also – like experienced ballet professionals – follow a bachelor's programme Teacher in Classical Ballet at the Dutch National Ballet Academy.

Dario Elia is artistic director of the Dutch National Ballet Academy. Miriam Kolk is responsible for business management (a.i.). South African choreographer Mthuthuzeli November is part of the management team of the Dutch National Ballet Academy, in the position of Artistic Associate. With his background in both African dance and ballet, he challenges our pupils and students during workshops and with new choreographies, and also provides input for a new, contemporary view of ballet education and the art form of ballet.
Ted Brandsen, director of the Dutch National Ballet, is affiliated with the school as artistic advisor.
