ATD Lectorate

The Lectorate* of the Academy of Theatre and Dance is the research department of the ATD. The professorship is led by the Lector, Laura Cull Ó Maoilearca, together with a core staff team and associate researchers.
The Lectorate conducts values-led practice research in performance focussed on the intersecting themes of social justice and access; climate and regeneration; care, wellbeing, grief & loss.
The Lectorate includes research groups in Embodied Knowledge, Creative Producing and Health and Performance, and runs THIRD: a peer-to-peer support structure for practice research in the performing arts at an advanced level.
Every January, the Lectorate hosts Research Month: an annual program of research events focused on widening audiences for the research that is already happening within the ATD.
The Lectorate is based at Grootlab at Overhoeksplein 2 in Amsterdam-Noord, together with the 3 ATD Masters programs: DAS Theatre; DAS Choreography and DAS Creative Producing.
To find out more about the Lectorate, please see this website or contact our management assistant, Marilixe Beernink marilixe.beernink@ahk.nl with questions.
