André Veltkamp Grant
The grant is named after André Veltkamp, director of de Theaterschool from 1997 to 2010. The André Veltkamp Grant is intended for graduation production of the Academy of Theatre and Dance that distinguishes itself through its engagement with society today and warrants an audience outside the Academy of Theatre and Dance. There is special focus on the craftsmanship of the maker, individuality, intensity and authenticity.
- The first presentation was in 2015. Charlotte Lap, theatre maker and widow of André Veltkamp, and Valerie Veltkamp, André's daughter, presented the scholarship to Liliane Brakema for The Wild Duck
- In 2016, the scholarship was awarded to Samira Elagoz for Cock, cock, who's there?
- In 2017, the scholarship went to the creators of the proposition The Louteringsberg
- In 2018, the scholarship was awarded to Mime Direction 2018 for Paradise Delay
- In 2019, A Carnival received the André Veltkamp Scholarship
- In 2020, Bodine Sutorius' performance Becoming received the scholarship
- In 2021, the scholarship was awarded to Lizzy & the Bacchantes
- In 2022, the scholarship went to 7 Abiku Solos for 11 Bacteria Falling Through by Flavia Pinheiro
The winner receives a sum of € 1.000 and made to measure productional support for the continuation of the production. Among other parties, the prize has been made possible by the Pisuisse Prijs Fonds.
