My name is David Banks, I am a Glasgow-based artist and movement specialist who aspires to reclaim cities and reduce inequality through community arts and performance. 

A graduate with BA (Hons) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland I make devised and collaborative work. Using my core skill set as a performance maker, mover and designer to create unique spectacles and projects from concept to creation. 

I’ve worked with the Design Council, Scottish Opera, Creative Scotland, Scottish Ballet, Motionhouse, Superfan among others as well as being a co-founder of Ukemi.

Research

At THIRD my research will begin with three enquiries;  

1. How can we reclaim spaces for performance?

2. How can we create counter-programs to mainstream festivals/events? 

3. How to support an art practice without public funding.
