Konstantina Georgelou

Konstantina Georgelou works as a performing arts theorist, dramaturg and researcher based in Amsterdam, and is currently a lecturer at the ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices and at Utrecht University. Her research interests span over the areas of dramaturgy, choreography, artistic research and philosophy, with a specific focus on the ethical and political aspects of performance. Her ongoing engagement with modes of production in theory and in the arts has been taking different experimental formats, such as in the collaborative projects ‘The Art of Lawlessness’ (2012-15), ‘Syros: a bet on the potentiality of co-operation’ (2013), ‘Dramaturgy at work’ (2014-16) and ‘The Young’ (2014-2016). Georgelou has co-authored and co-edited the book The Practice of Dramaturgy – Working on Actions in Performance (Valiz, Arts & Society series, 2016).
She has published articles internationally, such as in Performance Research, Performance Paradigm, ArtEZ Press, Maska, On Air etc., and has worked together with several artists including Danae Theodoridou, Janez Janša and Efrosini Protopapa.
