We are delighted to announce and share the news of “Compos(t)ing”, a Regenerative Creative Practice Symposium, co-initiated by ATD scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Nieuwe Instituut.  

“Compos(t)ing” is an event to unearth what regenerative design is and its extent. It is designed to be participatory and inspiring, where we can learn and explore from diverse creative practices.  This symposium also responds to the crucial need for a regenerative economy where the role of the arts and design sector makes a vital and leading contribution. Hence our main goal is to develop and share knowledge, methods, skills and new ideas about regenerative design.  

Central to the symposium is a showcase of regenerative creative practice presented in multiple breakout groups. These cases represent thematic threads including Regenerative Economies, More-than-human Ecologies and Transforming Didactic skills via Regenerative Pedagogies. The symposium aims to bring varied perspectives and practical expertise to encourage attendees to envision how true regenerative practices and education could be.

“Compos(t)ing” is an interdisciplinary collaboration, co-curated by educators and researchers from the Academy of Theatre and Dance, Willem de Kooning Academy, University of the Arts Utrecht HKU, Centre of Applied Research for Art, Design and Technology Avans CARADT and Nieuwe Instituut.
