In 2025, the Lectorate formed a new Research in Education Committee to establish a space and mechanism to share knowledge and address challenges, needs and desires about research in education ATD-wide. 

The committee meets 4 times a year and is made up of representatives from all 3 Domains (Dance, Theatre, and Masters), teachers, members of the Lectorate and management, and students.

The committee focuses on the connection between research and education – supporting the development of research by students and teachers in the education departments. The intention is to provide a structure and framework to ensure connection and ongoing conversation between the Lector, researchers, head of Policy and the education departments, with a particular focus on the Bachelors. 

Our focus is on Research in Education. The “in” is very deliberate. For the ATD, research and education are not separate, but feed into and inform each other through reciprocal, iterative and cyclical processes.
