Van 17 januari t/m 18 februari 2011 is de New Yorkse cult-choreografe en performer Ann Liv Young te gast als Artist in Residence bij de School voor Nieuwe Dansontwikkeling (SNDO). Met 37 studenten van de SNDO zal Ann Liv Young een massachoreografie-performance maken, gebaseerd op het personage Sherry, getiteld: 37 Sherrys.
De voorstelling 37 Sherrys zal op 18 februari 2011 in het Something Raw Festival in Theater Frascati in Amsterdam in première gaan.
Op 22 en 23 januari 2011 zal Ann Liv Young haar solo Cinderella vertonen in Melkweg Theater in Amsterdam.
Op 10 en 11 februari 2010, telkens om 20.00 uur vinden er repetities plaats van 37 Sherrys in studio Plantage Dok, Amsterdam. (alleen toegankelijk voor genodigden)
Deze Artist in Residency komt tot stand in samenwerking met het lectoraat Kunstpraktijk en artistieke ontwikkeling van de Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten.

Sherry is an agglomeration of the women (and men) in the audience. She has the theoretical potential to be all women because her character is always shifting. At the same time, the multiplicity of perspectives which create her means that Sherry is, by definition, a contradiction. She is all, none, both, and one. Her fractionated character defies trivialization by stereotypes.
In 37 Sherrys, Sherry engages in performative therapy to ease emotional expression. Based on the theory of the interrelatedness of body and mind, action stimulates emotional release. In past performances, Sherry’s therapeutic methods have implemented musical instruments, cooking lessons, and masturbation with quotidian objects in order to strengthen audience relationships.
