We are super happy to invite you to join us for “Samhein: Crafting our waking dreams”. At this time of the year, when the veil between worlds is thinnest and we slowly slip into the dreamworld, we invite you to come and walk a waking dream with us, shedding our dead skins, so next spring we may emerge with renewed visions for our multiple futures. We can’t wait to walk, dream, eat and celebrate with you on the 9th of November!

The festival of Halloween - or Samhein - is the moment between harvest and hibernation, it is a time of letting go as well as preserving what nourishes you.

To celebrate Samhein we will be joining forces between Walking Bodies/Becoming Wavicles from Gerrit-Rietveld-Academie/Sandberg with guest facilitator Erika Sprey and The Garden Project from the Academy of Theater and Dance Amsterdam. Erika researches different practices of collective dreaming, as an essential practice for societal change and being sensitive with a kindred, more-than-human world – having previously hosted events such as Wxtch Craft and Earth Craft (KABK studium generale). We imagine this event as a green corridor between the gardening projects of both the Gerrit-Rietveld-Academy and the Academy for Theater and Dance.

We use our walking movement to bridge these two, with occasional detours into under- and otherworlds, “crafting our wa(l)king dreams.” We begin at 14:00 with a workshop by Erika Sprey at the Gerrit-Rietveld Academy, and will then collectively walk through the park and the city to the Academy of Theater and Dance at Waterlooplein. There, we will visit the rooftop garden and experience the second half of the workshop by Erika Sprey and her dreaming practice. At 19:00, we will celebrate with a dinner of seasonal deliciousness!
